About this position
The Environmental and Social Solutions Division (VPS/ESG) of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is responsible for ensuring that IDB financed projects and other activities are environmentally and socially sustainable and comply with the Bank’s environmental and social policies. Specialists in (VPS/ESG) provide the Bank and its borrowers with guidance on environmental and social safeguard issues and participate in project teams, providing technical input on social and environmental issues during project preparation/due-diligence and supervision.
ESG is seeking an experienced consultant to support both the Overview Assessments and the Regional Policy Dialogue portfolios. The consultant will be responsible for organizing and coordinating activities, engaging stakeholders, guiding external consultants, and managing review processes to ensure the successful delivery of these portfolios.
What you’ll do
- Support the Overview Assessment Coordinator in organizing and coordinating all activities.
- Guide external consultants, including contracting and onboarding.
- Manage review processes to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
- Track and report on assessment status and progress with detailed records.
- Engage stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and information sharing.
- Support the DRP (Dialogo Regional de la Politica) Coordinator in all aspects of the RPD (Regional Policy Dialogue) portfolio.
- Organize and coordinate the RPD event, including logistics and communications.
- Facilitate bilateral exchanges between member countries of REDLAFICA and REDLASEIA.
- Track and report on progress across RPD workstreams.
- Guide and oversee external consultants supporting RPD activities.
What you'll need
Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in public administration, economics, international development or social sciences, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in regulatory analysis, international development, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, or related fields.
Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Type of contract and duration
International consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 36 months).
