Organizational Setting

 

The Department of Management (MT) provides a 'platform of services' that serves as a foundation for the successful delivery of the IAEA's scientific and technical programmes. Its mission statement is as follows\: "MT is a partner and a business enabler that champions change and efficiency, leveraging a common purpose". Thus, among other support activities, it assists a scientific manager in recruiting the right expert, helps a technical officer coordinate the purchase of radiation equipment, and ensures that all Board documents are translated and distributed on a timely basis to Member States.

The Division of Human Resources (MTHR) is in the Department of Management. MTHR provides a wide range of human resource (HR) services, including HR organizational development and planning, recruitment, staff development, performance management, and administration of compensation and benefits. A comprehensive and integrated HR service that matches the IAEA's HR capacity with its core goals is critical to the quality and efficiency of its programmes. The IAEA has a multicultural workforce of approximately 2300 people from diverse scientific, technical, managerial and professional disciplines.

The Recruitment and Staff Development Section provides HR services to the IAEA's technical programmes, and advice to managers in the areas of talent acquisition, development, and performance management. 

 

Main Purpose

 

Reporting to the Section Head, HR Management Section, the consultant will provide technical input and expertise in the deployment of staff and non-staff personnel for the assigned group of clients and ensures timely and efficient completion of all steps in the recruitment process and their compliance with IAEA's rules and regulations.

 

Functions / Key Results Expected

 

• Partner with hiring managers to understand their specific organizational needs and plan and implement solutions to meet their staffing needs.
• Provide appropriate information regarding job applications, hiring process, training materials, policies and procedures to candidates and hiring managers.
• Source highly qualified and diverse candidates for positions through networking using different search engines.
• Provide full recruitment cycle support to the assigned group of clients and perform daily talent acquisition activities, including but not limited to\: posting vacancy notices, reviewing and assessing applications, endorsing shortlists, assisting with interview questions and tests' compositions, participating in interviews, and conducting reference checks.
• Coordinate and administer different assessments to evaluate the technical skills and core competencies required for the position.
• Participate in panel interviews to secure the highest standards of efficiency, technical competence, and integrity.
• Provide support to the HR Business Partners as required.
• Participate and support other HR and Talent Acquisition initiatives and ad hoc projects.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • A first level degree in a related field.

  • At least 5 years of talent acquisition experience, ideally in an international context. demonstrated experience recruiting for a variety of functions and specializations.

  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and talent sourcing techniques.

  • Excellent project management and negotiation skills with a demonstrable ability to provide exceptional client service in a multicultural context.

  • Excellent collaboration skills with effective relationship-building and analytical skills.

 

Remuneration

The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 250, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
