Are you ready to shape the future of peace operations and UN reform?
Join NORCAP in a strategic leadership role where your expertise will help drive innovation and impact across global peacebuilding efforts.
NORCAP works to improve aid to better protect and empower people affected by crisis and climate change. We do this by providing expertise and solutions to humanitarian, development and peacebuilding partners, because we believe working together is the best way to reduce needs, risks and vulnerability over time. We seek and promote more effective ways of working at the global level and in the field. NORCAP’s aim is not only to reduce needs, but also to create choice and opportunity for vulnerable people.
NORCAP works with and through our partners to improve aid in two complementary ways:
We provide targeted expertise to strengthen our partners’ response.
We collaborate with partners to develop solutions to un-met gaps and challenges.
As part of this mission, NORCAP is seeking a Thematic Manager to lead our work in Peace Operations and UN Reform. This permanent position is based at our Head Office in Oslo, with approximately 10% travel. The role reports to the Head of Unit.
Role and Responsibilities
As the Thematic Manager Peace Operations and UN Reform, you will take on the following responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of NORCAP’s strategy for peace operations and UN reform, aligning with global agendas such as UN 2.0, UN80 and the New Agenda for Peace.
Shape and manage a portfolio of projects that strengthen civilian expertise in peace operations, transitions, and peacebuilding mechanisms.
Ensure quality and thematic coherence across NORCAP’s peace operations initiatives, including performance measurement and risk assessments.
Cultivate strategic partnerships with UN entities and multilateral organisations, positioning NORCAP as a thought leader in peace operations reform.
Provide thematic input to donor proposals and contribute to fundraising efforts for peace and UN reform initiatives.
Facilitate learning and communities of practice across NORCAP’s peace and security portfolio.
Represent NORCAP in global policy discussions and interagency forums.
