The GGGI Qatar Country Program, hosted at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) of the State of Qatar, is scaling up its activities to provide advisory and implementation support to Qatar in climate resilience and green growth projects in cooperation with MECC and relevant national and international stakeholders. GGGI is inviting applications for an internship position within the Qatar program.

ASSIGNMENT
We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join the GGGI Qatar Office in Doha as an AI Intern for Climate MRV Systems to support the ongoing development of Qatar’s National MRV Program and explore the integration of artificial intelligence into climate transparency systems. This opportunity is ideal for candidates passionate about climate change, data systems, and emerging technologies, who wish to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of AI, climate policy, and sustainability within an international organization.
The assignment will include, but is not limited to, the following tasks:
- Support the implementation and enhancement of Qatar’s National MRV Program, including research on the use of AI and data-driven approaches for improving climate data collection, reporting, and analysis.
- Assist in preparing technical inputs, concept notes, and communication materials related to AI integration in MRV systems and national climate reporting.
- Provide translation support (English–Arabic) to ensure effective communication and dissemination of project materials.
- Assist in coordinating requirements for meetings, workshops and capacity building events related to logistics, participants confirmation, presentation materials, among others.
- Assist in reviewing, editing, and proofreading GGGI knowledge products, technical reports, training and communication materials in line with GGGI guidelines.
- Perform other tasks as required by the Project Manager.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants to the GGGI internship program must, at the time of application, meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
- Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work.
- Must possess legal right to work in Qatar. For international applicants, a valid visa permitting work or internship in the State of Qatar is required.
- Proficiency in English essential and Arabic is beneficial.
- Applicants must be available to commit to the full internship duration as agreed with the supervising staff.
