The Scope
Third-party certification is a cornerstone of FSC’s assurance system. Today, FSC has licensing agreements in place with over 40 independent Certification Bodies (CB's) which audit conformance with FSC standards in more than 100 countries. FSC set up the function of Certification Performance and Relations to manage the relationships with these Certification Bodies in a systematic and coordinated manner to further strengthen the performance, integrity and credibility of its overall assurance system.
 
The Officer will support activities of the Certification Performance and Relations program within the System Integrity Unit by coordinating communications and relations with CB's and contributing to internal alignment within FSC International related to CB matters. The position offers the opportunity to support the development of this area of work for FSC of high importance for its assurance system and credibility.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
  • Support and structure the day-to-day operational interactions.
  • Perform communication and outreach related activities e.g. supporting annual and quarterly meetings, drafting news items, coordinating input for mailing lists and other communication channels to streamline crosscut communication within FSC International, FSC Network Partners, CB's and Assurance Services International (ASI).
  • Coordinate closely with all relevant units within FSC International, to ensure internal alignment on CB matters and on projects and initiatives that involve CB's, 
  • Provide administrative support e.g. the development of contracts and agreements with CB's and external service providers, onboarding newly accredited CB's, minuting meeting decision points, etc. 
  • Coordinate with CB's and FSC International the implementation of the program for FSC staff to observe audits.
  • Analyse data from FSC and other databases, to prepare briefings, presentations and summary results.
  • Document and share learnings from inquirers internally with an aim to improve internal operating procedures, templates and tools, and finetune FSC approaches and standards ensuring overall system integrity improvement, including providing input to ongoing revision processes.
  • Maintain, update and improve internal CPR databases.
  • Maintain and build good relations and effective contacts with internal and external parties involved in the program´s activities, including other System Integrity teams, other units at FSC International, FSC Network Partners, ASI, and CB's.
Your profile
  • A University degree or equivalent training or experience in a relevant field, for example, business administration, stakeholder management, relationship management, international relations, economics, political sciences, sustainability, law, or other relevant specialization.  
  • At least 2 years of professional experience related to the roles and responsibilities of this position. 
  • Outspoken time management skills; ability to perform well while handling simultaneously a number of functions. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective communication with peers and external stakeholders.
  • Service and solution-oriented attitude to work and professional relationships.
  • A very strong sense of diligence and accuracy, attention to details.
  • Administrative skills.
  • Standard software packages (MS Office), including proven experience and good knowledge of features of MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • PowerBI or similar software for data analysis and visualization is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English, spoken and written.
