Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and implements emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
DRC is currently looking for a Humanitarian Mine Action Assistant in Kyiv.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
HMA Program support
- Support the HMA Government Relations & Certification Specialist in organizing external quality control of cleared areas, and assist the Humanitarian Demining teams in preparing reporting documentation for the Mine Action Center.
- Support the HMA Government Relations & Certification Specialist in maintaining documentation and performing other administrative tasks related to the renewal and/or expansion of certification processes.
- Under the technical supervision of the HMA Government Relations & Certification Specialist, prepare draft letters in Ukrainian, Russian, or English on behalf of the Humanitarian Mine Action Country Programme Manager and submit all official communications.
- Perform any other tasks within the framework of supporting the Humanitarian Mine Action Programme, as required, under the technical supervision of the HMA Government Relations & Certification Specialist.
- Ensure the maintenance of an internal register (record) of training and professional development of the Humanitarian Mine Action personnel.
- Ensure the maintenance and preservation of the internal documentation archive of Humanitarian Mine Action Programme.
- Provide oral and written translation from English to Ukrainian and from Ukrainian to English during internal meetings, briefings, and work-related events, as well as record key decisions, take minutes, and prepare relevant meeting documentation.
Logistics support to the HDP team
- Provide logistical support and organize travel for HDP staff, including the preparation and submission of Travel Request Forms (TRF), Order Requests (OR), Purchase Requests (PR), in close coordination with the Finance and Supply Chain Units.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to minimum 2 years of practical experience in an admin/logistics role, as well as in Humanitarian Mine Action programme. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
- University degree in project management, business administration, or similar professional qualification.
- Experience with IMSMA Core and ArcGIS.
- C1-level proficiency in English.
- Confident user in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
