SOS Children’s Villages Ghana is a child welfare organization that provides stable, Family-Like Care (FLC) for children in need. We also offer social services to families at risk through our Family Strengthening Projects. We currently operate in four locations: Tema, Asiakwa, Kumasi, and Tamale, with our national office located in Accra. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and dynamic persons for appointment on our EU–Ghana Youth Empowerment Program “Spark Change Makers” (Empowering Youth-Led CSOs and Social Entrepreneurs) Project as:

 Position: Field Officer

 Duty Post: Asokore Mampong

 Duration: 40 months (contract renewable based on performance and availability of funds)

 

Role Overview

The Field Officer will support the day-to-day implementation of project activities in their assigned region. They will work directly with youth groups, community partners, local authorities, and entrepreneurs to ensure smooth delivery of training, mentorship, and advocacy activities. The Field Officer will also monitor project progress, gather data, and provide regular feedback to ensure the project achieves its objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Sociology, Business Administration, Community Development, Social Work, or a related field.
  • At least 2–4 years of experience in youth development, community mobilization, entrepreneurship support, or NGO project implementation.
  • Experience working with youth-led organizations, cooperatives, or social enterprises is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of local governance structures and community engagement strategies.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in monitoring and reporting of field activities.
  • Proficiency in English and some local Ghanaian languages.
  • Comfortable using digital tools (smartphones, tablets, Microsoft Office, Google Forms, or Kobo Collect).
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region and occasionally to other parts of Ghana.
