SOS Children’s Villages Ghana is a child welfare organization that provides stable, Family-Like Care (FLC) for children in need. We also offer social services to families at risk through our Family Strengthening Projects. We currently operate in four locations: Tema, Asiakwa, Kumasi, and Tamale, with our national office located in Accra. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and dynamic persons for appointment on our EU–Ghana Youth Empowerment Program “Spark Change Makers” (Empowering Youth-Led CSOs and Social Entrepreneurs) Project as:

1) Project Coordinator

 

Role Overview

The Project Coordinator will lead and manage the overall delivery of the project on behalf of the consortium, which includes SOS Children’s Villages Ghana, Social Innovation Africa, Songtaba, and SOS Children’s Villages Netherlands. This person will act as the main link between the partners, the EU Delegation, and local stakeholders. The Project Coordinator will ensure the project runs smoothly, stays on budget, meets its goal, and delivers lasting impact for the Ghanaian youth.

Duty Post: Asokore Mampong, Kumasi

 

Duration: 40 months (renewable based on performance and availability of funds)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or related field (Bachelor’s degree acceptable with significant experience).
  • At least 5–7 years’ experience managing donor-funded or multi-partner development projects, ideally EU-funded.
  • Proven track record in youth empowerment, civil society strengthening, social entrepreneurship, or advocacy.
  • Strong understanding of EU project management procedures, financial management, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and team management skills.
  • Working experience with government institutions, local authorities, and CSOs in Ghana.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate in some local Ghanaian languages
