About the Country/Multi-Country Office
Since 1972 WHO has been a key partner of the Government of Bangladesh and provided technical advice and support for the development and improvement of the health of the country’s population.
The organization has been supporting the Government, and working in collaboration with other partners, for the attainment of the highest possible level of health by all. It has been providing support for the development and strengthening of the country’s public health systems. Currently WHO support is guided by a broad framework known as the WHO Country Cooperation Strategy (CCS) for 2014-2017.
Job Specific Context
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) is implementing health sector reform measures, supported by the World Health Organization (WHO). To ensure effective coordination, implementation, and monitoring of these reforms, a Coordination and Operations Cell (COC) is being established. The Administration Clerk will provide general office, logistical, and clerical support to the COC, assisting in document handling and supporting meetings and workshops.
Role Purpose
The Administration Clerk will provide general office, logistical, and clerical support to the Coordination and Operations Cell (COC), ensuring a well-organized workspace and assisting in document handling, and supporting meetings and workshops.
Functions / Key Results Expected
1. Administrative Support
Provide general administrative and clerical support, including filing, scanning, photocopying, data entry, and record management.
Assist in the archiving and maintenance of office records.
Maintain accurate records and reports (e.g. attendance registers, logs, invoices or supplies), ensuring timely updates and submissions as required.
2. Logistics and Event Support
Assist with logistics arrangements for meetings, workshops, travel and events.
Assist with the organization of corporate events, workshops and retreats.
3. Office and Facilities Management
Assist with stock control and inventory of supplies, consumables and assets.
When instructed, assist with procurement activities such as raising requisitions, receipts and payment requests in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
4. Travel Support
Arrange travel for personnel, including bookings, logistics and security clearance.

Required
- High School Diploma/ Secondary Education with 3 years of relevant experience

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline is desired and may substitute for experience.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in providing office support and clerical assistance.
Desired
Experience working in a UN, government or international organization is desired.
