Department and Team background: Accreditation and Entity Relations Unit, Department of Investment Services
The Accreditation and Entity Relations Unit of the Department of Investment Services is responsible for managing relationships with Accredited Entities and applicants, ensuring compliance with GCF’s accreditation standards, and supporting capacity-building initiatives. The Unit plays a key role in operationalizing the Accreditation Framework and enhancing engagement with stakeholders.
Internship Assignment
The Intern will provide analytical, operational and administrative support within the Accreditation and Entity Relations Unit of the Department of Investment Services, including operationalizing the revised accreditation framework (RAF) and implementing the RAF communications plan. They will have the opportunity to learn and expand their experiences by applying skills in strategic communications and program management. The intern may also assist with cross-departmental activities, including strategic, operational and communications efforts related to accreditation.
Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors within the Department of Investment Services, the Intern is expected to:
- Conduct preliminary appraisal of prescreening questionnaires and accreditation applications.
- Support overall implementation of the RAF communications plan, including developing materials, coordinating across departments, and supporting teams to meet timelines.
- Support the operationalization of the RAF, including initial pre-screening and application operations and review.
- Contribute to development of presentations and help to organize outreach on RAF for internal departments, national designated authorities, accredited entities, and current and perspective accreditation applicants.
- Contribute to strategy and process improvement in the accreditation team.
- Assists in administrative tasks (i.e. organizing meetings, preparing minutes and briefs for internal and external meetings) and the preparation of PowerPoint presentations, including presentations for events/meetings and other programming needs, as appropriate.
Requirements and qualifications
- Enrolled in Master’s program in communications, public administration, climate change, sustainability or related fields;
- Knowledge and experience with communications, financial institutions and/or climate change issues.
- Good understanding and experience in operations of international organization is an added advantage;
- Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access;
- Excellent writing and presentation skills;
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
