Set up in 2010 by the 194 countries who are Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), GCF takes its responsibility as the world’s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund to heart. GCF funds transformative climate projects across the developing world, supporting countries in their responses and actions to tackle climate change while fostering sustainable development within their communities.

Internship Assignment
The Department of People and Culture plays a vital role in fostering a positive workplace environment and aligning organizational goals with employee well-being. It focuses on creating an inclusive, engaging, and productive culture while ensuring employees are supported, motivated, and empowered to thrive professionally and personally.
The intern will work closely with the Director of People and Culture, providing support for HR programs such as the Internship Program and other initiatives aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance of the Director of People and Culture, the intern will:
• Provide assistance in the planning and execution of special HR projects aligned with GCF’s People Plan, including basic support for HR systems–related activities.
• Conduct research and data analysis to support organizational initiatives, including preparing simple dashboards, data checks, or summaries as needed.
• Collaborate on communication strategies to promote HR programs and initiatives. ensuring clarity and consistency in HR processes and system-related updates.
• Provide administrative support for cross-departmental projects, such as meeting coordination, document preparation, and stakeholder management.
• Perform other tasks as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
• Enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program (or recently graduated) in Human Resources, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in HR strategy, program management, or organizational development.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
*The person assessed by the Selection Panel as most suitable for the position will be proposed for appointment. Selection among short-listed candidates will also take into account performance at interview, appropriate testing, and references.
