DRC has been operating in the Middle East (ME) region for over a decade, running a combination of emergency, livelihood, protection and advocacy programmes through Country Offices (COs) in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey with a Regional Office (RO) in Amman.

About the Job:
Overall purpose of the role:
The Economic Recovery Assistant provides essential support to the efficient and compliant implementation of DRC's Economic Recovery activities at the base level. The role focuses on carrying out core field tasks, including beneficiary identification and distribution, while ensuring strict adherence to DRC's guidelines and standard operating procedures. The Assistant contributes to the team's daily planning and supports administrative processes to maintain smooth programme operations. In addition, the Economic Recovery Assistant is in charge of the following:
Programme Implementation Support
- Actively participate in field-level activities, including beneficiary identification, registration, and verification for emergency and recovery interventions.
- Support the distribution of relief assistance (cash or in-kind), ensuring processes are orderly, accountable, and respectful to beneficiaries.
- Assist the sector Officer in conducting needs assessments and other sector-specific data collection exercises in the communities.
- Communicate clearly with community members about programme objectives, entitlements, and feedback mechanisms as directed.
Administration, Compliance & Reporting
- Carry out key administrative tasks, including the preparation of Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Purchase Orders (POs), and service contracts as requested.
- Assist in the tracking of programme outputs and the financial reconciliation of activities.
- Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of daily field activities and promptly escalate any issues encountered during implementation to the Team Leader.
- Follow given work plans, guidelines, and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with DRC and donor requirements.
Coordination & Teamwork
- Develop and maintain respectful relations with persons of concern, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Economic Recovery team and other sectoral teams.
- Participate actively in team meetings and planning sessions, providing updates from field activities.
- Support logistics and coordination for field movements as required.
About you
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Experience and technical competencies:
- Minimum 2 year of relevant work experience.
- Experience in administrative tasks.
- Excellent computer science.
- Experience with following standard procedures and guidelines.
- Fluency in local language.

Education:
Essential Qualification :
- Degree or Diploma or closely related Degree.
Languages:
- Arabic – fluent.
- English basic.
Key stakeholders:
- Economic Recovery Manager/Specialists/PMs/TLs.
- Economic Recovery team.
- Support service departments.
- Other Sectoral teams operating in the same area.
We offer
DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until April 30, 2026, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work as soon as possible and be willing and able to work in Hodeida.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment. This position will be placed at Band (NMI) and will be reporting to the Economic Recovery Team Leader.
