OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
Increase WHO country office capacity strengthening National Malaria Control Program and Neglected Tropical Diseases Program in accordance with established technical guidelines.Organizational Context (Describe the work environment, the role of the individual within the team - team member, specialist, adviser, facilitator, coordinator/manager, representative, expert, authority in the field, etc; available guidelines and degree of independence in decision making, and nature and purpose of contact within and outside the Organization):DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
1.Provide technical assistance for the intensification of activities and management of the respective national malaria control and neglected tropical disease control programs to the Government and health partners;2.Provide technical cooperation activities related to prevention, control and elimination and reintroduction of malaria and other infectious and parasitic diseases;3.Provide technical input to the development and updating of national guidelines on malaria and neglected tropical diseases based on country priorities;4.Facilitate the coordination of the implementation of community-based activities, including disease management, monitoring/evaluation and documentation of best practices/innovations in community-based interventions in hard-to-reach or underserved endemic areas;5.Provide technical cooperation to strengthen the evidence-based approach in the preparation of key norms, guidelines and strategies to guide the prevention and control of vector borne, zoonosis and neglected diseases as well as treatment protocols;6.Contribute to the improvement of the harmonized national health information system on malaria and neglected tropical diseases, in collaboration with all stakeholders in the management of malaria and NTD program data.7.Facilitate the development of Public-Private Partnerships for the delivery of services for the control of malaria and NTDs through technical guidelines for case management, prevention in vulnerable groups, surveillance and monitoring/evaluation of the implementation of control interventions including the documentation of good practices through national surveys and other operational research studies, as well as evaluations 8.Collaborate with other health programs to strengthen the management of the supply chain for antimalarial drugs, NTDs and other inputs, including monitoring their quality and combating substandard or counterfeit drugs;9.Ensure continued advocacy with the government for strong and sustained support for the mobilization of domestic financing for integrated malaria and NTD control activities;10.Support capacity building of Malaria, NTDs Programs and other technical assistance needs for other services of the Ministry of Health and/or health partners;11.Perform any other tasks assigned by the representative and supervisor or Representative.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: A university degree in a health-related science from a recognized institution.Desirable: A master's degree in communicable diseases, epidemiology or public health and/or formal training in health research would be an asset
Experience
Essential: Minimum 2 years of national experience working in epidemiological, public health, vector-born diseases and neglected diseases control and prevention.Desirable: Experience in research, policy briefs and data analysis would be an asset
Skills

REMUNERATION
Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at XOF 21,352,000 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
