Salary:

US$ 55,163 net per annum, plus post adjustment (currently US$ 40,324). Salary is free of income tax in the United Kingdom.

Purpose for the Post

The Human Resources Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting HR Services team in delivering high-quality HR programs and services. Serving as the focal point for HR data and information management, the incumbent will collaborate closely with ERP specialists, systems developers, budgeting officers, and external stakeholders. The role also involves representing the service area on data and information management related matters.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and produce data visualizations, detailed reports, and analytics with clear business insights.

  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure data integrity and accuracy across HR systems.

  • Collect, interpret, and analyse large datasets, including identifying trends and patterns to generate actionable insights for strategic decision-making.

  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of HR services, processes, and tools, while recommending and implementing improvements.

  • Support payroll processing, including accurate data entry and maintenance of HR records.

  • Contribute to all compensation and benefit exercises including salary surveys, social security data reviews, market analysis, etc.

  • Maintain and manage the master schedule of HR activities and reporting deadlines throughout the year to ensure timely delivery of HR outputs.

  • Provide technological support to all functional areas within the HR Services for enhanced and seamless work delivery.

  • Support the team in onboarding and offboarding activities.

  • Serve as the primary liaison for data and information management, engaging with both internal stakeholders and external partners, including relevant UN bodies.

  • Provide periodic capacity-building initiatives for HR Services staff and clients to enhance data literacy and system usage.

  • Ensure HR data and information are accurately maintained and accessible on platforms such as the organization’s intranet and website.

  • Perform other duties as assigned and provide coverage for colleagues when required.


Required Competencies

  • Proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI.

Professional Experience

A minimum of two years of direct relevant experience in data management, providing strategic HR support to a large and diverse client base. Demonstrated proficiency in using HR information systems and digital tools.

Education

University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Science and Information Technology, Public Administration, or a related field. Professional certification in data analytics or a related discipline is considered an asset.

Language Skills

Complete proficiency in English is essential for the position. Knowledge of other UN official languages is desirable. 

Other Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret HR data, resolve data integrity issues, and generate accurate, insightful reports to support workforce and business decisions.

Contract Information

Fixed-term for two years (first year is probationary) with the possibility of further extension, subject to satisfactory performance.
