Overview of positionCTG is looking for a qualified candidate, whose experience matches the below TOR.
Role objectivesDrives our clients staff & their official visitors on official trips, as well as their representative & their visitors on occasions as & when required.
Meets staff & official visitors at the airport / airstrip; facilitates immigration & customs formalities, hotel check in & other local procedures.
Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption & expenditures related to transportation / vehicles, vehicle servicing & repairs.
Ensures day to day maintenance of the assigned vehicle(s), checks oil, water, battery, tires, performs minor repairs & arranges for any other repairs necessary to keep the vehicle safe & technically always sound in a timely manner, maintains the vehicle(s) in a clean condition.
Manages local & organizational formalities when involved in an accident, ensures that all organizational & national rules, regulations & procedures are followed correctly.
Collects & delivers mail, documents, pouches & other communications / items to & from the country office, airport, government agencies, other UN agencies, institutions, project sites, etc., to take & deliver items, communications & keep records as required.
Undertakes the routine maintenance, repair of vehicles & mechanical equipment as necessary.
Diagnoses vehicle, reports faults & repairs needed as necessary.
Accurately records all work done & parts used in the format provided by the logistics office.
The Driver will work under the overall supervision of the Head of the Transport Unit & the direct supervision of the Transport Coordinator.
Key competenciesPossess a valid driving license for light & heavy vehicles, including trucks, vans & minibuses.
Must have experience matching this TOR.
Must be fluent in English French & Kirundi.
This role has no team management responsibility.
