CURRENT OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to work with us for the GGGI Jordan Country Office and provide substantive support to the program.
In Jordan, GGGI serves as an embedded strategic and technical advisor to the Government, supporting the Ministry of Environment and other national institutions (line ministries, municipalities, and national finance institutions) with enhancing access to finance and achieving implementation of the Economic Modernization Vision and the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDCs). To achieve this objective, GGGI is currently implementing a growing portfolio of projects in climate finance, sustainable finance, sustainable transport, food security, carbon finance, green employment, green investment mobilization, green growth planning, etc.
The intern will gain experience in project implementation, and stakeholder engagement within an international development organization. The assignment will include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Support research, data collection, modeling and analysis on green growth trends, projects, and best practices in Jordan and internationally.
- Assist in developing briefing notes, policy summaries, and presentations related to green transition.
- Contribute to the preparation of project reports, workshops, and public-private dialogues.
- Assist in stakeholder coordination with ministries, municipalities, private sector, and development partners.
- Provide logistical and technical support during field visits, consultations, and capacity-building activities.
- Assist in preparing knowledge products (dashboards, infographics, PPTs) to communicate project findings and recommendations.
- Perform other duties as required in support of the Jordan team.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s , Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
- Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work.
- Possess an excellent command of English.
QUALIFICATION
- Academic background in sustainable transport, civil engineering, energy engineering, economics, business administration or a related field.
- Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn various topics of sustainable mobility, electric vehicles, or climate policy.
- Ability to understand and analyze financial data/models will be considered a strong advantage.
- Excellent English communication skills, particularly writing and/or editing experience in one or more fields related to green growth or international topics in a professional context.
- Proficiency in English is an absolute prerequisite. International applicants are welcome.
- Proven computer literacy in standard office software applications, standard Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds and time zones.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and pay close attention to detail.
SELECTION PROCESS

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Resources: the intern should use his/her own laptop and cellphone device to perform his/her duties and tasks.
Duration: The internship program is for at least three months and up to six months. Once selected, interns must begin your internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.
Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD$500 per month. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.
Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.
Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract.
Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.
Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.
Working Hours: interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly.
Learning Outcomes: before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.
Certificate: provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
