About the Project Office
UNOPS supports both humanitarian response and early recovery in Gaza. Currently, UNOPS support in Gaza focuses on key humanitarian enablers, including on access, via the Security Council-mandated UN 2720 Mechanism and the Access Support Unit (ASU), humanitarian fuel and energy, and mine action. Operations are envisaged to continue in the coming period with a focus in line with the UNOPS mandate: (i) infrastructure construction and rehabilitation, (ii) procurement and (iii) project management.
Job Specific Context
The Support Team of UNOPS provides the full range of support services to ensure timely and quality delivery of UNOPS Agenda and UNOPS Strategy, in compliance with its policies and procedures.
The ICT functions are governed by UNOPS policies. ICT supports UNOPS with managing ICT resources, network administration, IT business system solutions, ICT Risk Management and General Operations support.
UNOPS is seeking to recruit a retainer ICT Senior Assistant to assist with ICT function. Under the overall guidance and the direct supervision of the ICT Associate, the ICT Senior Assistant will deliver above objectives.
** IMPORTANT INFORMATION **
Retainer positions are not full-time positions. They constitute a contract whereby the Retainer may be requested to provide a specific output/deliverable within a specified period of time, on short notice. When holding a retainer contract, individuals may receive ad-hoc requests from the UNOPS project teams or country offices, and the quantity of requests will vary depending on the current needs. UNOPS shall have no obligation to obtain any minimum quantity of services from the Individual Contractor during the duration of the retainer ICA. Role Purpose
The ICT Assistant (ICT-A) will be based in Jerusalem, with travel / work to the West Bank. The ICT-A will,
Assist in managing ICT resources, including hardware, software, inventory, skills, team, outsourced providers.
Assist in ICT projects / Business System solutions development.
Assist with general operations management.
The work is of a highly confidential nature and the ICT-A must maintain the highest standards of confidentiality
Functions / Key Results Expected
Working under the supervision of the ICT Manager and in close collaboration with the Operations Team, the ICT Assistant will be responsible for the following deliverables.
Assist in setting up and configuring the end user requirement.
Assist in the installation and maintenance of the communications equipment for wired and wireless networks.
Assist in the daily and routine IT support. Installation, operation, and maintenance of computer systems and other technologies, such as communication systems.
Technical support to end users on all help desk requests, including escalating cases to the ICT Manager.
Troubleshoot Internet connection problems including following up with the ISPs in Jerusalem and Ramallah.
Troubleshoot all internal networks at the office including LAN, Wi-Fi, Security systems networks.
Troubleshoot technical problems with security systems including VoIP phones system, CCTV cameras system and network, Access Control system and network, public address, Time Attendance system.
Monitor and maintain printers, including supplies.
Monitor and maintain UPS systems and Power Generator of the building, including monthly checkup, spare parts, and fuel requirements.
Follow up on any connection requests.
Daily check of Antimalware portal for any problems.
Deployment of any required patches or licenses on the users’ systems
Monitor and maintain engagement log, visitor log etc.
Assist in procurement of ICT requirements within the allocated ICT budget
Follow up with different suppliers when needed.
Conduct new staff onboarding and offboarding including inventory updates.
Maintain ICT inventory, with the support of Finance.
Stay updated with new features, capabilities and best practices of office deployed solutions.
Assist in developing business system solutions (databases, forms, surveys… etc.) in close collaboration with ICT managers and project owners.
Perform additional tasks assigned by the line manager.

Required
Secondary school (or equivalent) with 5 years of relevant experience
Desired
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer science/Infomration technology with 1 years of relevant experience is desired
Experience Requirements

5 years ( or less, depending on your academic credentials) of relevant experience
Experience in technical support is required.
Demonstrated high level competence with using standard office software packages (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required
Intensive knowledge in Google Workspace is required.
Desired
Experience in UN or INGO is desirable.
