The Scope
Join FSC’s growing digital team and help create world-class, user-centered digital experiences. We are looking for a Front-end UX Developer who blends strong front-end engineering skills with UX design expertise to deliver high-quality, accessible, and visually compelling digital products—primarily across Drupal-based platforms.
 
This role works closely with designers, content strategists, back-end developers, and stakeholders to bring seamless digital solutions to life.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
Front-end Development:
 
  • Build responsive, accessible, and high-performance interfaces using modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular).
  • Develop and customize Drupal themes, templates, and front-end components (Twig).
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility, web standards, excellent performance, and scalable code.
  • Optimize front-end architecture for speed, usability, and maintainability.
  • Document, maintain, and review code.
 
UX Design & Research:
 
  • Conduct user research and usability testing.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Apply UX/UI best practices to enhance engagement, satisfaction, and accessibility (WCAG).
  • Review and advise on the usability of websites, portals, and applications across FSC’s digital ecosystem.

Collaboration & Integration
  • Integrate APIs and collaborate with back-end engineers for seamless functionality.
  • Work closely with content and digital strategy teams to align with brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with external consultants on digital platforms and applications.
  • Support cross-team consistency across all FSC digital touchpoints.

Project Management & Quality Assurance
 
  • Manage full project cycles—scoping, timelines, delivery, and quality.
  • Produce clear project summaries, deliverables, and roadmaps.
  • Perform QA testing and develop test plans to ensure accessibility and usability standards.
  • Implement and maintain web data tracking (GA4, Google Tag Manager).
  • Identify opportunities to optimize workflows, technologies, and the overall digital experience.
Your profile
Education
 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in Web Development, Design, Computer Science, or related fields.
 
Experience
  • 5+ years in front-end development.
  • 3+ years in UX/UI design and user-centered design.
  • Proven experience delivering responsive and accessible digital products.
  • Strong expertise in Drupal theming and front-end customization.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), React/Vue/Angular, and Git/CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience with GA4, Google Tag Manager, and web data tracking.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

The Fine Print
•    Location: Bonn, Germany.
•    Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
•    Duration of Employment: Temporary contract – 2years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance). 
•    Starting Date: As soon as possible.
•    Travel: Sporadic travel is required.
