Overview of positionUnder the overall supervision of the Senior/Program Associate and direct supervision of the health facility in charge (Team leader), and administrative supervision of the relevant Heads of Sub Office. The Community Mobilizer will actively engage in health promotion activities, including nutrition screening, risk communication, data entry of the health facility and community engagement activities. He/she is expected to carry out his/her duties in accordance with the strictest ethical standards and with due respect for gender and socio-cultural sensitivities. Deployment areas may include IDP settlements in rural or remote areas within the project scope.
Role objectivesCore Functions / Responsibilities:

Conduct individual and group health education and awareness sessions on health promotion topics, including vaccine-preventable diseases such as Polio, Measles, and Tetanus, as well as Pneumonia, malnutrition, and maternal and child health. These sessions should be provided to individuals attending health facilities and during outreach activities.

To raise awareness door-to-door or site-to-site on Routine immunization, Polio and other communicable diseases to migrants, IDPs and the host community population in targeted catchment areas.

Actively organize and participate in Health Shura meetings with community leaders.

To implement the community engagement activities and the refusal conversion strategy within the catchment area of the service delivery points (in both fixed and outreach).

Actively participate in health emergencies control, including disease outbreak monitoring, collecting statistical information, taking part in the health awareness campaign, etc.

Develop daily and monthly community engagement session plans on RI/Polio-related topics and maintain an up-to-date line listing of children under five/two within the catchment area.

To mobilize the community to immunize their children and women of reproductive age during the outreach session.

Proactively identify and screen individuals in the community for Routine immunization/Polio refusal.

To screen all returnees and travelers at the borders for the detection of priority diseases, and to report findings to the border health team leader and/or the senior/program associate.

Contribute to the consistent and accurate collection/entry of data into the KOBO system, vaccinations and outreach clinic activities.

Support the health team leader in timely entering data, reporting, processing and analysis of health data from field locations and assist when required in data cleaning.

Ensure that all information relevant to key project indicators and outputs is collected promptly and that all information collected is consistent with requirements for progress reporting and outcome monitoring.

Undertake routine, independent spot-checks of health data to ensure quality by random verification and validation.

Maintain clear records for both static and outreach clinics and provide monthly reports to ensure on-time reporting.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Midwifery, Laboratory, or Pharmacy from an accredited academic institution with one year of working experience.

High School Diploma /Certificate in the above field with three years of relevant experience.
Experience:
-
Previous f experience in relevant outreach, health promotive and preventive activities
-
Previous experience in an international organization is an advantage. Knowledge and experience with working in the field and medical emergency department and Trauma management will be considered an advantage.

Effectively applies knowledge on clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control, administering medication, maintenance, surveillance data collection, Health Education etc.

Previous practical, authentic experience on providing Psychosocial First Aid will be advantageous.

Works effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.

Working on an emergency and development project.

Willingness to work long hours and weekends when necessary.
Languages:

For all Applicants, fluency in Fluency in Dari and Pashto is required (oral and written).

Working knowledge of English required.

Fluency in all national language(s) are highly advantages.
