THE ROLE
The Social Accountability Field Officer (SAFO) – Child Path Scale-up Implementation Project is a 2-year project-based role. The SAFO supports the implementation 2026-2027 Child Path Scale-Up project by championing the Community Score Card (CSC) process in government clinics and schools, facilitating community and service-provider dialogues to drive measurable service delivery improvements. The role also captures field learning and helps develop a practical playbook to support CSC scale-up under the Child Path initiative, improving outcomes for thousands of children and youth.
This role is heavy on facilitation, field work, relationship building, and stakeholder engagement. If you enjoy working with people, navigating different perspectives, and turning community feedback into concrete action, you will do well here.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with community members, community leaders, local government units, and partner organizations while ensuring active and inclusive participation throughout the program cycle.
- Organize and facilitate CSC-related discussions and action planning sessions while collecting qualitative and quantitative data through participatory tools.
- Conduct orientations, meetings, and workshops to build stakeholder capacity and support community committees in implementing action plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop localized action plans, monitor activities and budgets, and conduct periodic reviews to guide adjustments.
- Document program activities accurately, maintain data integrity, prepare reports, and analyze feedback and stories to inform continuous improvement.
- Work closely with field teams and partners to align efforts and support local initiatives that enhance program impact.
- Contribute to evolving program needs by conducting assessments and resource mapping to identify local strengths and opportunities.
- Strictly observe confidentiality and strong ethics with respect to all beneficiary information/financial and other organizational data.
- Apply child safeguarding principles and ensure adherence to organizational policies in all community engagement and data handling activities.
- Promote a culture of belonging and impact by practicing inclusion and respect, and valuing diverse cultures, perspectives, and identities in all interactions.
- Work is primarily field-based across assigned communities and institutions; occasional evening/weekend activities may be required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KEY SKILLS:
- Graduate of a bachelor’s degree in social work, Community Development, Public Health, Social Sciences, Education, or related field.
- With minimum of two years’ experience in community engagement, participatory development, or program facilitation, preferably in health or social accountability projects.
- Knowledge and skills in participatory methodologies, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and capacity-building approaches.
- Can lead focus group discussions, consultations, and workshops effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and managing qualitative and quantitative data using participatory tools and surveys.
- Strong skills in developing localized action plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely implementation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with cultural sensitivity to promote inclusive participation.
- Adaptability and resourcefulness in dynamic field environments with emerging priorities.
- Willingness to do regular fieldwork and travel within project areas.
