To reinforce our Uganda team, we are looking for a Programme Officer. The position is a position with 37.5 hours per week.This position is only filled locally. With contractual conditions of Uganda. An expatriation is not intended.
These are your responsibilities
1. Core purpose
The Project Coordinator will provide overall coordination, implementation oversight, and monitoring of the ECO-Food Uganda Project. The role ensures that the project achieves its objectives of promoting ecologically sustainable, inclusive, and economically empowering agriculture and food security among smallholder farmers, women, youth, and persons with disabilities in Northern Uganda.
2. Main Tasks
Project Planning and Coordination
- Lead day-to-day coordination of project activities in collaboration with implementing partners (CEFORD, NUDIPU, and C&D).
- Develop and update detailed implementation and work plans aligned with donor requirements.
- Facilitate effective planning and reporting cycles between partners and CBM.
- Coordinate logistics for trainings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement meetings.
Technical Support and Capacity Building - Provide technical guidance on inclusive livelihood programming and climate-smart agriculture approaches.
- Support implementing partners to integrate disability inclusion, gender equity, and environmental sustainability in all activities.
- Identify capacity gaps among partners and recommend capacity strengthening interventions.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning - Coordinate project monitoring and ensure partners report against log frame indicators (e.g., productivity, food security, income, and inclusion metrics).
- Ensure regular field visits to monitor progress, document lessons learned and support corrective actions.
- Contribute to mid-term reviews, learning workshops, and donor reporting.
Partnership and Stakeholder Management - Serve as the focal point for communication between CBM, CEFORD, NUDIPU, and C&D.
- Liaise with local governments, district agricultural officers, OPDs, and private sector partners (e.g., Martino Rossi Spa).
- Facilitate collaboration with research and extension services (e.g., NARO).
- Represent CBM and the project in relevant networks and stakeholder forums.
Financial and Administrative Oversight - Work with finance teams to review partner budgets, financial reports, and ensure compliance with CBM and donor policies.
- Track expenditure against the activity plan and ensure accountability for resources.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial/narrative reports.

These are your qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Development Studies, Project Management, or related field.
Master’s degree preferred in Sustainable Development, Agricultural Economics, or Social Inclusion.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing donor-funded livelihood or agricultural development projects.
- Demonstrated experience in inclusive programming (working with women, youth, and persons with disabilities).
- Proven experience coordinating multi-partner, multi-district programs.
- Familiarity with climate-smart agriculture, value chain development, and market linkages.
- Strong M&E and report writing skills.
Skills and Competencies: - Excellent stakeholder coordination and facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of Uganda’s agriculture and social protection frameworks.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and digital collaboration tools.
