Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.

DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and implements emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.

DRC is currently looking for a highly-qualified Finance Team Leader to join our team in Mykolaiv.

About the job 

The Finance Team Leader is one of key roles in support services department. You will lead the finance department ensuring the day to day activities are conducted according to organization operational handbook, country legislation, and donor rules and regulations.

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Lead the and supervise daily activities of finance team.
  • Collaborate with Support Services Manager to ensure budget monitoring and forecasting support buget lines.
  • Ensure allocation of support costs based on accountable costs and project period.
  • Review documents for payment and ensure costs are coded to correct budget and project.
  • Supervise all payment processes are handled properly via ERP Dynamics and are in compliance with Ukraine legislation.
  • Ensure monthly closing is carried out properly and on time.
  • Provide technical support to program team in relation to budget and financial processes.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have proven leadership and team management skills and excellent communication skills working in the multi-cultural enviroment. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • University degree in Finance/Accounting/Management/Commerce/Business Administration.
  • Previous experience in Bank System, Finance, Accounting minimum 3 years.
  • Previous experience with preparation of financial reports to various international donors.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.

Desirable

  • Previous experience with International NGO.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian an added value.
  • Excellent knowledge and active user of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge in ERP Dynamic is an advantage.

We offer

  • Contract length: 12 months renewable depending on performance and funding after successful completion of 3 months probation period

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for national employees.
