What will you do in this position?
Reporting to the Programme Policy Officer. The Programme Assistant is responsible for supporting the implementation of WFP’s assistance programmes, with a focus on Cash-Based Transfers (CBT), In-Kind food assistance, and operational coordination. The Programme assistant is expected to work under minimum supervision, performs basic analyses, and compiles reports to support information consistency and smooth implementation of programmes/projects.

How can you make a difference?
- Support the planning, implementation, and follow-up of both Cash-Based Transfers (CBT) and In-Kind food assistance, ensuring compliance with WFP standards and donor requirements.
- Assist in beneficiary targeting, registration, and distribution planning for WFP activities, particularly for both CBT and In-Kind modalities.
- Compile, verify, and report data specific to CBT and In-Kind distributions in the West Bank, contributing to regular situation updates.
- Attend, coordinate and document operational meetings with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective programme delivery.
- Prepare agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action points from operational meetings related to CBT and In-Kind activities.
- Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation, and follow-up of ongoing project activities.
- Support communication and activities with local partners, agencies, NGOs, and government institutions in the West Bank.
- Act as a point of contact for resolution of general operational queries, requesting assistance where necessary.
- Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of a crisis.
- Support on preparing for potential field visits
- Adapt processes and approaches to the local context and operational challenges in the West Bank.
- Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor(s)
To join us in saving lives, changing lives, you will have:
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in working for NGOs or INGOs supporting humanitarian operations, specializing in Cash Based Transfer implementation, beneficiary services, and field coordination.
- Experience supporting CBT and In-Kind assistance programmes is desirable.
- Experience facilitating communication with technical teams (e.g., nutrition, VAM, livelihoods, social protection) is mandatory.
- Experience coordinating and documenting operational meetings is mandatory.
- Experience contributing to programme implementation and reporting is mandatory.
- Experience liaising with local authorities, community representatives, and cooperating partners in the West Bank is mandatory.
STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of a post-secondary school education. A postgraduate degree in International Affairs, Law, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Policy and/or Management or other relevant disciplines desirable.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic language.
