Overview of position

The contracted personnel will be required to provide technical user support and assist in troubleshooting of ICT-related issues. Additionally, he/she will also technically assist and support all other Field Office locations throughout the Mission area whenever required.

Role objectives
  • Providing first level technical support for desktop, laptop and peripheral devices.

  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and Windows operating system issues.

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computers, printers, scanners, and mobile devices including setting up new user workstations, imaging devices, software installation, and any       peripheral connections.

  • Recording dispatching and keeping track of incidents and service requests using the UN adopted customer relationship management tool.

  • Assisting users with email, collaboration tools, and other productivity software like Microsoft 365.

  • Assisting in the installation of network infrastructure including network cabling, indoor cable trunks sockets and communication racks; troubleshooting network connectivity and wireless access issues;  

  • Supporting user accounts issued like Windows network account issues, email account issues including those related to multi-factor authentication and SAP account login issues with escalation to higher tiers when required.

  • Performing routine hardware system maintenance and preventative care.

  • Perform any other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisors.

      Project reporting

      The ICT End-User HW/SW Support will be working under the direct supervision of the Digital Solution Supervisor in the Republic of South Sudan.

      • Works collaboratively with and supports colleagues/clients to achieve common goals.

      • Must be a National of South Sudan.

      • A minimum of diploma in an Information Technology related field is required. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or other related fields is desirable.

      • Must have at least 3 years of working experience relating to the required technical knowledge written above.

      • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office Suite and others.

      • Any prior experience within the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations is desirable.

      • Must have a national driver’s license and be able to drive a light motor vehicle with manual transmission.

      This role has no team management responsibility.
