Areas of Responsibility:

  • In charge of supervising day-to-day project activities (planning and response) at the field level
  • Conduct regular field visits in assessment/distribution locations to assess the quality of programming
  • Ensure proper analysis and reporting of program activities and indicators, including drafting of project reports, in line with project proposals
  • Follow up on project-related issues and challenges so these are addressed promptly
  • Supervise, guide, and support ER Officers on their daily tasks, in line with established work plans.
  • Provide training and orientation on ER tools, guidelines, and SoPs to all team members.
  • Ensure updates and decisions from management are timely communicated to field staff.
  • Regularly participate in cluster meetings, OCTs, and other emergency ad-hoc meetings, and provide updates to the Program Management Team for further decision-making.
  • Support in the identification of funding opportunities by assessing local needs for life-saving interventions.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including community leaders, government departments, NGOs, community-based organisations, and other IRC sectors to enhance cooperation, coordination, and referral pathway systems.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, BBA, Sociology, and International Relations required. Minimum three to four years of experience working with local or international NGOs, with three years doing emergency programming (ex, winterization, NFI, and Shelter).
  • Good project management skills, including budget monitoring, analysis of data, and report writing.
  • At least two (2) years of demonstrated experience managing staff.
  • Experience in building networks and working with a variety of stakeholders, such as government bodies, NGOs, and communities
  • Familiarity with the local province’s context, culture, traditions, and its sensitivity
  • Knowledge of gender, protection, and diversity issues in humanitarian programming
  • High knowledge of the MS Office package
  • Fluency in Dari, Pashto, and English required
  • Ability to cope with stress, work under difficult circumstances, and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility and willingness to relocate at short notice, outside the normal areas of operation, and for short periods of time
  • Priority will be given to local people.
