Job Overview:
The Strategy & Delivery Unit is a high-profile team that partners with the Executive Board and senior leaders to translate IRC’s mission into actionable priorities. We lead strategic planning, advise on organizational transformation, and ensure effective delivery of critical initiatives. Our work spans global operations and influences decisions at the highest levels of the organization.
As Director, Strategy & Delivery, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting IRC’s most important strategic initiatives. This is a senior leadership position that combines strategic advisory, problem-solving, and leading tight-knit teams. You will lead complex, cross-functional projects, provide counsel to senior executives, and manage a talented team to deliver solutions that drive organizational performance and impact.
The role reports to the Head of Strategy & Delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Advisory
Lead high-priority projects that advance IRC’s global strategy and operational excellence.
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, facilitating decision-making on complex and sensitive issues.
Work with leaders across departments to translate organizational goals into actionable plans, ensuring alignment and accountability across teams.
Project Delivery & Problem-Solving
Oversee multiple complex projects from scoping to execution, ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes.
Apply structured problem-solving and evidence-based analysis to develop innovative solutions.
Drive consensus among diverse stakeholders and navigate ambiguity with confidence.
Team Leadership & Development
Manage and mentor other members of the Strategy & Delivery Unit, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
Support the Head of Strategy & Delivery in shaping team priorities, allocating resources, and representing the unit internally and externally.
Champion professional growth and create an environment where team members thrive.
Job Requirements:
Experience:
8–10 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in management roles in strategy, consulting, or organizational transformation.
Proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional projects in complex global environments.
Skills & Competencies:
Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Outstanding communication and facilitation skills, including with executive audiences.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent.
Comfort with ambiguity and resilience in fast-paced settings.
Preferred:
Experience in a top-tier strategy consulting firm or strategy function within a global organization.
Advanced degree (MBA or relevant master’s).
Familiarity with humanitarian or development sectors; multilingual skills (French, Arabic, Spanish) a plus.
