NIB´s Legal Department, headed by the General Counsel, handles all legal aspects of NIB’s lending and treasury activities and provides legal support to institutional and administrative matters.
Our Legal Department is seeking an Executive Assistant and Advisor to provide support and advice to the General Counsel and Secretary General in his role as Head of the Legal Department and Secretary to the statutory bodies of NIB.
Your main tasks are to:
- Prepare, draft and edit documents, presentations and correspondence for NIB’s statutory bodies (the Board of Governors, the Control Committee and the Board of Directors)
- Advise and support the General Counsel and Secretary General on corporate governance matters
- Prepare, draft and edit documents, presentations and correspondence for the Office of the President, as well as other internal NIB committees and stakeholders as required
- Support all aspects of meeting preparation for NIB’s statutory bodies as required
- Assist with domestic and international liaison with NIB’s member countries, International Financial Institutions (IFI) networks, and other external stakeholders
Other duties will include:
- Coordinating communication, information flow and document preparation within and outside of the Legal Department
- Managing financial planning, budget follow-up, and other financial responsibilities as needed for the Legal Department
- Supporting the General Counsel and Secretary General in practical matters, including organising departmental events, making travel arrangements and meeting planning
- Assisting the General Counsel and Secretary General in his capacity as Dean of the IFI General Counsel group
We are looking for someone with:
- A Bachelor´s degree or a higher degree in a relevant field
- At least 5 years’ experience in similar tasks, for example as a parliamentary or ministerial assistant/adviser or equivalent roles in diplomacy, international organisations or the private sector
- Excellent skills in organising, prioritising, planning and coordinating work
- Can do attitude, proactive way of working and high energy
- Curiosity to learn and work with different tools and processes
- High level of integrity and thriving in a multi-cultural environment
- Fluent in English, spoken and written; knowledge of NIB member country language is an advantage
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Experience working with Nordic or other cross-border issues in a legal environment is considered an advantage
- Readiness for occasional travel
