Based in Brazil, the UNOPS Southern Cone Multi-Country Office (SCMCO) also oversees operations in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, supporting national priorities and development goals across the subregion. In Argentina, UNOPS strengthens public institutions by providing technical assistance in planning, procurement, and oversight of infrastructure projects—particularly in public buildings—and building capacity in public procurement, with a focus on technological innovation. O Engenheiro Agrícola gerencia e supervisiona as obras de infraestrutura executadas por parceiros implementadores e contratados. O cargo é responsável por coordenar as atividades diárias de design, construção e procurement, garantindo que os projetos sejam entregues dentro do prazo, do orçamento e com os mais altos padrões de qualidade.

O Engenheiro Agrícola incorpora as melhores práticas em design técnico e gestão da construção ao longo de todo o ciclo do projeto — desde o planejamento até a entrega — devendo manter estrita conformidade com os padrões de Saúde, Segurança, Social e Ambiental (HSSE) e com os requisitos de Proteção contra Exploração, Abuso e Assédio Sexual (PSEAH).

O titular da função também demonstra forte expertise técnica, gestão proativa de recursos e capacidade de assegurar integridade, transparência e coordenação eficaz entre as partes interessadas em todas as atividades de engenharia civil.

The Agricultural Engineer manages and supervises infrastructure works executed by implementing partners and contractors. The role is responsible for coordinating daily design, construction, and procurement activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Agricultural Engineer incorporates best practices in technical design and construction management throughout the entire project lifecycle—from planning to delivery—maintaining strict compliance with Health, Safety, Social, and Environmental (HSSE) standards and Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) requirements.

The incumbent also demonstrates strong technical expertise, proactive resource management, and the ability to ensure integrity, transparency, and effective coordination among stakeholders in all civil engineering activities.

Functions / Key Results Expected

Assessoria Técnica em contratos de construção e supervisão:

  • Apoio técnico na análise de projetos de Engenharia Agrícola, sugerindo adequações aos projetos, quando necessário;
  • Apoio técnico ao acompanhamento junto aos destinatários do projeto, fornecendo assistência técnica em áreas de Engenharia Agrícola 
  • Apoio técnico à revisão de todos os documentos relacionados aos projetos e licenciamento de projetos;
  • Apoio técnico à revisão de orçamento de projetos de Engenharia Agrícola, análise de solicitações de alteração nos projetos;
  • Apoio técnico à proposição de soluções de execução de obras de unidades de armazenamento de alimentos;
  • Apoiar na execução de projetos para assegurar que as normas, regulamentos e planos sejam respeitados, inclusive planos de segurança e saúde, planos de meio-ambiente e ações sociais e planos de qualidade; e
  • Apoio técnico ao desenvolvimento de metodologia para licitações públicas e acompanhamento de obras, inclusive com participação nas oficinas para os destinatários do projeto.

  • Technical support in the analysis of Agricultural Engineering projects, suggesting project adjustments when necessary;
  • Technical support in monitoring project beneficiaries, providing technical assistance in Agricultural Engineering areas;
  • Technical support in reviewing all project-related documents and project licensing;
  • Technical support in reviewing budgets for Agricultural Engineering projects, analyzing requests for project changes;
  • Technical support in proposing solutions for the execution of food storage unit construction;
  • Support in project execution to ensure that standards, regulations, and plans are respected, including safety and health plans, environmental plans, social actions, and quality plans; and
  • Technical support in developing methodologies for public tenders and monitoring works, including participation in workshops for project beneficiaries.
