We are now looking for an Associate Banker to join our Project & Structured Finance team. The team currently consists of seven bankers working on complex transactions primarily in the Nordic–Baltic region. As an Associate Banker, you will support the primary banker team throughout the transaction lifecycle and gradually take increasing responsibility for your own portfolio. 

Our aim is for the successful candidate to start in early May, while remaining flexible for the right candidate.

Your role and key responsibilities 

In this role, you will work closely with experienced senior bankers and gain broad exposure to project and structured finance transactions within, infrastructure, renewables, etc.

Your main tasks will include: 

  • Assess and analyse financing opportunities and leads, including market research, financial analysis, and initial project screening. 
  • Assist in originating, planning and executing loan transactions within project & structured finance, including credit proposal preparation and internal workflow management. 
  • Support in due diligence processes, liaising with external advisors and internal experts (legal, risk, sustainability, technical, insurance) as needed. 
  • Act as back-up for the primary banker in the transaction process, ensuring continuity in client interaction and internal coordination. 
  • Document meetings with clients and internal stakeholders, prepare minutes and follow-up actions, and maintain transaction files and data rooms. 
  • Post-signing, take primary responsibility for portfolio management of assigned assets, including: 
  • Be the first point of contact for clients and agents 
  • Monitoring financial and operational performance 
  • Reviewing waiver and amendment requests 
  • Proactively identifying and addressing early warning signals 

 Your profile 

  • Education:
     
    • Master’s degree (or final-year student) in finance, law, business, industrial engineering, or a related field. 
  • Experience:
     
    • 1–3 years of relevant experience from banking, corporate finance, project finance, consulting, private equity, law, engineering or similar. 
  • Skills & competencies:
     
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including comfort with financial modelling and cash flow analysis.
       
    • Ability to quickly understand new business models, sectors and project structures.
       
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex topics clearly and concisely.
       
    • High attention to detail combined with the ability to meet deadlines and manage several tasks in parallel.
       
    • Comfortable working under guidance from senior colleagues, yet proactive, curious and willing to take ownership of tasks.
       
    • Ability to work effectively across business units, building networks.
       
    • High degree of proactivity, resourcefulness and initiative that shows ability to prioritize requirements, work with minimum supervision, and produce high quality work under pressure.
       
    • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required and fluency in a Nordic language is considered as a strong advantage.
