📌 Type of Contract: Special Service Agreement

📍 Duty Station: Gaza
➡️ Duration: 11 Months (renewable)
The position is only open to nationals or residents with a legal permit/ID to work in Gaza.
Upon the completion of a competitive selection process, successful candidates will be placed on the roster and rostered applicants may be contacted in the future on an as-needed basis, for immediate opportunities.

What will you do in this position?
The photographer/videographer will be expected to provide WFP with sufficient, diverse and quality visual material (photographs and videos) for public information, advocacy and other visibility purposes. WFP will thereafter retain the right to use the photographs/videos in numerous publications and for its website. Credit will be given to the photographer following WFP practices. Credit will be given to the videos on WFP’s content management system.
This roster is for both photographers and videographers. Proficiency in both practices is highly desirable, but not mandatory. You are encouraged to apply should you have expertise in one of the two fields. Depending on your profile and the results of selection assessments, successful Candidates will be placed on the roster for either one of the profiles or for both.

How can you make a difference?
Under the supervision of the Communication Officer and the overall authority of Head of Communication, the Photographer/videographer will:
- Capture high-quality and visually compelling photographs and/or video footage that tell the story of the organization's humanitarian work, including portraits, candid shots, and action shots.
- Attend and photograph/record events, activities, and programs organized by the organization, including field visits, distribution of aid, and community engagement activities.
- Post-produce photographs and videos to ensure they meet the organization's visual standards and are ready for use in various media platforms.
- Accurately document and tag all photographs and videos with relevant metadata, captions, descriptions and shot lists for archiving and future use.
- Provide and maintain professional-grade photography/videography equipment and gear, including cameras, lenses, and other accessories required for the job.
- Meet agreed-upon deadlines for delivering post-produced photographs and videos to the organization in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the organization's staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries to ensure appropriate permissions are obtained for photography and videos, and to understand the context and goals of the photography assignments.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards of photography and videography, including respecting the privacy and dignity of subjects, obtaining informed consent, and maintaining confidentiality and security of all visual materials.
- The photographer/videographers will sometimes be asked to also take video shots and provide the raw material for the team's use. This will include interviews, event coverage, and others as required.
- Propose ideas for coverage as needed, based on organizational priorities and access.
To join us in saving lives, changing lives, you will have:
EDUCATION: First level university degree in Communications, Journalism or any other fields related to Photography is desirable. Completion of secondary education is mandatory.
EXPERIENCE: Three years or more postgraduate professional experience in the field of Photography and/or Videography. Experience conducting assignments for international media, the UN and/or an NGO is required.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Humanitarian visual storytelling: captures and post-produces high-quality, visually compelling photographs that accurately document humanitarian contexts and convey clear, ethical narratives aligned with organizational objectives.
- Visual asset management and documentation: accurately captions, tags, and archives photographic material with relevant metadata, ensuring traceability, discoverability, and long-term usability of visual assets.
- Ethical and protection-sensitive practice: strictly adheres to ethical photography standards, including informed consent, respect for dignity and privacy, and the secure handling of sensitive visual material in humanitarian settings.
- Timeliness and delivery under constraints: consistently meets agreed deadlines for the delivery of edited and publication-ready visual assets, balancing quality, speed, and operational realities.
LANGUAGES: Fluency (level C) in Arabic is required, working knowledge (level B) of English is desirable.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
WFP will retain the copyright of all photographs and videos taken during the assignment and will ensure that credit is provided to the photographer/videographer following WFP guidelines. The photographer/videographer can use the images for purposes of portfolio or non-lucrative exhibitions of their work and with prior permission obtained from WFP.

• Digital photography and videos today must pass professional post-production.Photos and videos are therefore manually enhanced.
• Photo and video capture is made through professional digital camera with interchangeable lenses. Color photos are high resolution format suitable for any high-quality production, at 300 dpi (File size +17 MB). Video footage must preferably be shot at 4K resolution, 50-60 fps.
