INTRODUCTION TO GGGI

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. To learn more please visit about GGGI web page.

The partnership between GGGI and the Government of Mexico has produced several key results to date. In the coming years, GGGI will continue to catalyze resource mobilization to bridge the significant climate finance gap and promote technical advisory in sustainable landscapes, sustainable finance (related to green and climate investments), climate action (such as NDC planning and implementation, inclusive green growth plans, MRV system design) and green infrastructure solutions.

POSITION SUMMARY

Based in Mexico City, the Traceability Senior Associate will report to the Sustainable Landscapes Coordinator. The position will be responsible for delivering technical inputs that trigger sustainable agrifood transformation. Specifically, supporting the design and implementation of zero-deforestation and sustainable commodity traceability initiatives, strengthening transparency, accountability, and climate-positive outcomes across value chains. This role provides technical expertise in the use of geospatial analysis (GIS), digital platforms, and traceability systems, integrating spatial and non-spatial data to monitor land-use change, assess deforestation risks, and support robust monitoring, reporting, and verification processes to enhance transparency. Leveraging emerging digital technologies—including, where relevant, artificial intelligence and data analytics—the position contributes to evidence-based decision-making, policy support, and scalable solutions that advance green growth, climate action, and resilient supply chains in Mexico.

He/she will be responsible for supporting the implementation of various projects working closely with federal government agencies, subnational governments, development banks, the private sector, and international organizations. The position will also collaborate in capacity building activities and carry out technical analyses.
