Organizational Context

Sudan is facing one of the most severe humanitarian crises in recent history, with ongoing conflict and instability driving widespread displacement, food insecurity, and disruption of essential services. The impact of this crisis extends beyond Sudan’s borders, affecting neighboring countries such as Egypt, Chad, and South Sudan, which are hosting large numbers of refugees and returnees. The Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in these countries, together with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), are actively responding to urgent needs. IFRC has launched emergency appeals for Sudan and for its neighboring countries to scale up life-saving assistance. However, funding gaps remain significant, and additional resources are urgently required to meet growing humanitarian needs.
