About the position
The Analyst will play a key role in supporting effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of project objectives, outputs, and activities, as well as the efficient support in management of financial resources, contracts, and logistics across both projects. By supporting these efforts, the Analyst will make a significant contribution to the goals of the TFP and Biotechnology Unit and in the Alliance Bioversity - CIAT, supporting collaboration with international partners.
The position will be based at the Alliance’s Americas Hub in Palmira, Colombia.The office will be located on the west side of the laboratories. (LO6)
Key
Responsibilities
- Work closely with researchers to plan, execute, and track project objectives, outputs and activities ensuring timely completion and delivery.
- Provide support in coordinating project activities according to the scientist’s schedule and guidance, ensuring proper organization and follow-up of assigned tasks.
- Establish strong communication at all levels, representing both researchers and administrators of The Alliance, partners and donors, i.e., UCLA, UCB and Gates Foundation, adhering to institutional policies.
- Provide operational support in tracking commitments with donors, co‑implementing partners (including One CGIAR partners), and external collaborators by assisting with data collection, organization, and maintenance in the designated repositories, ensuring that required metadata is properly recorded.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation for measuring regional and global outputs, outcomes, and impact at any given time.
- Provide support for national and international project workshops, meetings and other related events.
- Provide support to team members specifically in the
administrative area.

- Bachelor’s degree in administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- ·Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), particularly for reporting, tracking, and coordination purposes.
- Experience supporting administrative processes related to the acquisition of goods and services, including coordination with finance and accounting teams for payments and follow-up activities.
- Experience in organizing and supporting workshops and meetings involving participants from diverse organizations, regions, and cultural backgrounds.
- Experience working with international research organizations is an asset.
- Experience supporting communication and reporting to international donors and national and international partners, including government agencies and research institutions, is an advantage.
- Experience using IA tools to create effective reports and provide accurate information.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team in a multicultural, multidisciplinary and diversity in gender environment.
- ·Intermediate to advanced English level (oral and written).
This is a nationally recruited position placed at a BG06, on a scale of 14 levels, with level 14 being the highest. This is a Colombian national search and will be managed through a fixed term contract of a one (1) year period, subject to a probation period according to the local legislation and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
