The role will be responsible for the day-to-day development activities of the application development team. The developer will be responsible for the design, testing, development and deployment of eUNRWA solutions, web applications and interfaces with internal and external partner systems, services, and projects within the overall software development lifecycle. The incumbent will coordinate with other DITID units to provide technical solutions and implement the software solutions for high performance, optimized and efficient solutions as required by all business processes and in compliance with the defined standards.

Specific Outputs/Tasks include but not limited to: • Lead the end‑to‑end product lifecycle, from discovery and roadmap planning to delivery and iteration. • Oversee development of mobile and web applications built with React Native (front-end) and Python/Django (middleware) and Dynamics365 (Backend). • Guide the design and implementation of scalable RESTful APIs and integrations, including Dynamics 365 and third‑party services. • Ensure product quality, security, performance, and alignment with business goals. • Provide technical direction, review deliverables, and mentor cross‑functional development teams. • Troubleshoot product issues, prioritize backlog items, and drive continuous improvement. • Prepare product documentation, release notes, and stakeholder communications. • Deliver regular progress updates and lead agile ceremonies across teams. • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) from an accredited educational institution in computer sciences or information technology or other related discipline. A relevant first-level university degree in combination with two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. • Minimum 5 years of experience in product leadership, software development, or technical delivery roles. • Proven experience leading teams delivering products built with React Native, Python/Django, and RESTful integrations. • Hands-on experience managing and enhancing Dynamics 365 CE modules, including customization, workflows, and integrations. • Strong background in defining product roadmaps, prioritizing backlogs, and driving agile delivery across cross‑functional teams. • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor development teams, ensuring alignment with product goals and technical standards. • Experience translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and high‑performing technical solutions. • Solid experience in troubleshooting complex system issues and improving product workflows and operational efficiency. • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

English and Arabic are the working languages of UNRWA. For this assignment, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage but is not a requirement.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE • The consultancy is based in UNRWA HQA Amman - Jordan. • The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration that is equivalent to P3 Step 1 amounting to $7,924.25 for every fully completed month. • The duration of the Contract is up to 12 months, and the possibility of extension is subject to the availability of funds and continuing need and satisfactory performance. • As part of Digital Impact, Technology and Innovation Department (DITID)and digital workspace the role works under the overall supervision of the Head Software Development & Lead Solu Architect Section.
