Title: IT Operations Assistant (3 vacancies)
📌 Type of Contract: Special Service Agreement (SSA) Contract
➡️ Unit / Division: Information and Communications Technology Division (ICT)
📍 Duty Station: East Jerusalem, Palestine
➡️ Duration: 3 months (with potential extension)
The position is only open to nationals or residents with a legal permit/ID to work in East Jerusalem.
** The Vacancy Announcement is issued to fill multiple posts within WFP Palestine’s TEC Unit. You are encouraged to apply if you are interested in one or more of the following fields:
- Data Analysis and digital solutions: To support WFP Palestine in managing its beneficiary information and transfer management platform (SCOPE), cash transfers, and other software or digital solutions.
- End user support: To support WFP Palestine staff in day-to-day IT user support and trouble shooting
- IT Infrastructure: To support WFP Palestine in its readiness to respond to emergencies through managing IT assets and hardware.
The recommended candidate will be allocated to one of the above-mentioned teams, depending on the candidate’s profiles, the outcome of the assessments/ selection and the need of the Programme.

What will you do in this position?
To deliver standard software and hardware support services, as well as monitor and maintain a wide range of information sources, to contribute to the effective delivery of IT services.

How can you make a difference?
Under the overall authority and guidance from ICT Officer, the IT Operations Assistant will:
- Carry-out system and equipment maintenance tasks, such as back-up system data and system protection, to ensure they are running effectively and enable easy and efficient use.
- Undertake basic monitoring and troubleshooting of server systems to ensure a consistent delivery of IT services to staff.
- Respond to basic queries about technology and systems to support the correct application of technology.
- Receive and inspect all incoming assets and report discrepancies in IT materials inventory to senior colleagues to ensure materials are effectively tracked.
- Perform basic beta testing and support the roll out of new versions of centrally supported software to ensure software is operational for WFP staff.
- Ensure information is up to date and accurate within inventories, databases, websites, and archives in order to support senior officers in managing these systems.
- With direction from senior colleagues, collate information to be included in standard material such as training documentation and web content, to contribute to the availability of information about services and products.
- Follow set emergency response processes and procedures as required to provide support in enabling emergency food assistance needs to be met.

Education:
Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in computer science, computer engineering or information technology, or any other related functional area is desirable.
Experience:
Four or more years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in IT-related projects or technical troubleshooting, IT support, helpdesk operations, data analytics, network administration, or IT infrastructure and networking, or any other related functional area is desirable.
Desired Experiences for entry into the role:
• Academic or professional experience in computer science.
• Has experience resolving level 1 IT issues.
Language:
Fluency (level C) in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic language.
