Role and responsibilities

Generic responsibilities:

  1. Line management of Emergency field staff;

  2. Manage and implement delegated portfolio of emergency projects (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality;

  3. Contribute to the Emergency Response strategy development, which may include Livelihood, Shelter and WASH sectors, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps; 

  4. Provide regular progress reports to Area Manager / Program Manager and relevant CC specialists;

  5. Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills; 

  6. Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities;

  7. Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders, and represent NRC in relevant forums / groups / working groups at field office level

  8. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures;

  9. Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy;

  10. Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and assess new and better ways to assist;
