This will allow IDB Invest to significantly scale up its investments, nearly doubling annual financing from approximately $8 billion to $19 billion, and unlocking greater private sector participation to drive development and climate impact across the region.
About this position
The objective of this consultancy is to provide analytical, strategic, and operational support to the Office of Strategy, Planning and Synergies in the design, coordination, and implementation of strategy related initiatives and documents. The consultant will contribute to internal strategic discussions, stakeholder engagement, and the preparation of materials that support senior management decision-making and Board engagement.
What you’ll do
- Strategy articulation and development: Support internal discussions and workshops; prepare background materials, debrief notes from meetings, and contribute to the drafting and refinement of strategic documents including IDB Invest’s Business Plan and strategic roadmaps.
- Program management and stakeholder engagement: Support coordination across internal stakeholders, follow up on action items, and help ensure timely delivery of outputs.
- Market research and analytics: Support benchmarking and comparative analysis of peer institutions and private sector development organizations to identify best practices and lessons learned relevant to IDB Invest’s strategic priorities.
- Analysis and visualization of internal data: Perform ad-hoc quantitative and qualitative analysis using internal datasets; develop dashboards, charts, and visual materials to support internal discussions and strategic documents.
- Strategic communication: Draft talking points, briefing notes, and presentations for senior management participation in internal committees, Board discussions, and external events.
- Strategic initiatives: Support the design and implementation of cross-cutting internal initiatives related to institutional strategy, synergies, and operational effectiveness
What you'll need
Education : Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in business administration, economics, international development, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
Experience: At least of 5 years of progressive experience in strategy, management consulting, or development finance.
Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

International consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 48 months, if applicable).
