Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Child Protection team in UNRWA, the intern will: • Design child-friendly visual materials (posters, leaflets, message cards). • Adapt technical content into simple, age-appropriate visual messages for children. • Ensure all designs follow Do No Harm, inclusion, and non-stigmatization principles. • Use culturally appropriate colours, symbols, and illustrations suitable for children. • Revise and update designs based on technical feedback.
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must meet one of the following educational criteria at the time of application: • Be enrolled in an accredited first-level, higher education programme (Bachelor’s or equivalent); or • Be enrolled in an accredited graduate school programme (Master’s or higher or equivalent); or • Have graduated with a university degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent), and if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation. • Skills in graphic design (Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, or similar). Skills in graphic design (Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, or similar). • Creativity and innovative approaches to sharing important awareness messages in a creative and child-friendly way • Understanding of child-friendly communication and working with children. • Basic knowledge of humanitarian work and Child Protection principles. • Ability to simplify technical messages into child-appropriate visuals. • Ability to work within a team and meet deadlines.
