NORCAP’s mission is to improve aid to protect and empower people affected by crises and climate change. With expertise in the humanitarian, development and peacebuilding sectors, we collaborate with local, national and international partners on finding solutions that meet the needs of people at risk.
We do this by:
Supporting humanitarian, development and peacebuilding initiatives that protect and empower people
Improving impact at the global and local level through joint projects with partners and stakeholders
Providing expertise and developing capacity that enable partners to meet the needs of people in fragile situations and crises
Strengthening the global system that we are part of through support for leadership, coordination and policy development
Building bridges between the humanitarian, development and peacebuilding sectors
NORCAP’s partnership with Mercy Corps strengthens shared ambitions to expand renewable energy access, support green recovery, and reinforce local climate resilience efforts across Ukraine. Mercy Corps’ work spans urgent humanitarian assistance and long‑term recovery efforts, particularly in decentralised energy and market‑driven climate solutions.
To support this work, we are seeking an Innovative Climate Finance Expert based in Kyiv, Ukraine from July to December 2026, (with possibility of extension), with up to 20% travel in-country.
The Innovative Climate Finance Expert will report to the Mercy Corps Ukraine Director of Programmes.
The Innovative Climate Finance Expert will help drive Ukraine’s green recovery by designing and advancing innovative climate finance solutions, while building partnerships with donors, Development Finance Institutions, and private sector actors. The role also strengthens programme quality, strategic positioning, and coordination across wider climate and energy initiatives.
At NORCAP, we work to better protect and empower people affected by crises and climate change. With expertise in the humanitarian, development and peacebuilding sectors, we collaborate with local, national and international partners on finding solutions to meet the needs of people at risk. NORCAP is part of the Norwegian Refugee Council.
