IOM Indonesia has been operational for over four decades, making it one of the largest missions of the International Organization for Migration globally. It collaborates extensively with the Government of Indonesia, civil society, private sector stakeholders, migrants, and local communities to address a diverse array of activities. The organization focuses on several key thematic areas, which include Immigration and Border Governance (IBG), Counter-Trafficking and Labour Migration/Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion (CT-LM/LMSI), Disasters, Climate and Resilience (DCR), Refugee Care, Migration Health, Migration Governance, as well as Returns and Reintegrations.
The Refugee Care Unit contributes to the increased protection of vulnerable subgroups of displaced persons, such as unaccompanied migrant children (UMCs), victims of sexual and gender-based violence, pregnant women, and the elderly, among others, through the establishment of referral mechanisms involving the active participation of specialized state and non-state service providers.
Under the direct supervision of Programme Associate (Refugee care) and under overall supervision of Senior Programme Associate (Refugee care) in Tangerang, the incumbent will implement the educational activities as a part of overall process of the psychosocial assistance activities for- the refugees in Tangerang, Jakarta, & Bekasi areas.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct educational activities on a regular basis across designated service areas (including Tangerang, Jakarta & Bekasi), as requested by Programme Associate at respective locations.
2. Identify standard curriculum for different educational activities and adopt them to the capacity of the beneficiaries.
3. Establish mechanisms to periodically monitor beneficiaries' level of knowledge acquirement on subjects and provide monthly reports to IOM.
4. Undertake other duties that may be assigned from time to time which are commensurate to the position.
5. Perform any other duties as may be assigned, including clerical support and duty travel.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant subject matter or obtained specific degree in teaching with two years of relevant work experience, preferably in teaching children.
- Completed High School from an accredited academic institution, with four years of relevant professional experiences.
Experience
- Having affiliation with education institutions is a clear advantage;
- Proven capacity and experience in teaching in a classroom setting and/or private tutoring Proven capacity and at least four years of experience in
- teaching the specific subject;
- Proven ability and experience in liaising with UN, Government Departments/Authorities and other international organizations;
- Have solid experience in teaching both children, having experiences in conduct multi-grade teaching is desirable;
Skills
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion in appropriate areas of work;
- Proven ability and experience in liaising with UN, Government Departments/Authorities and other international organizations.
- Proven ability to operate computer basic applications: MS Word, MS Excel, Windows
Languages
For this consultancy, For this position, fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required (oral and written).

Notes
IOM covers Consultants against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the consultancy. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
