Overview of position

Under the overall supervision of the RSU/CCCM Programme officer and the direct supervision of the Senior Program Associate, the successful candidate will contribute to roll out IOM RSU/CCCM programme and will be responsible to support our client RSU/CCCM unit. S/he will perform the following duties.

Role objectives Core Functions / Responsibilities:
  • Support community mobilization for the RSU/CCCM programme activities, organization of assessments, focus group discussions, awareness campaigns, and community engagement activities at the CRC and site level. 

  • Support community mobilization for our client and partners' assistance distributions at the CRC and site level within targeted communities with particular emphasis on meaningful inclusion of women, children, the elderly, and persons with specific needs into decision-making processes.

  • Enable effective dialogue with the site population through the setting up of information sharing and feedback mechanisms.

  • Provide information to the CRC/site population about the assistance and services available at the CRC/site and how to access them. Promote the participation of the IDPs, returnees, and host populations at the CRC/site level, with particular emphasis on meaningful inclusion of women, children, the elderly, and persons with specific needs.

  • Help identify and report gaps and/or duplication in service delivery at the CRC/site level in coordination with site communities and relevant stakeholders, and inform the CRC team leader, or CCCM/RSU Sr. Program associate.

  • Assist in the implementation of community events, outreach campaigns, and awareness-raising on key humanitarian subjects relevant to the displacement site population, engaging local government structures and community leaders to maintain close coordination throughout the project.

  • Register CRC visitors in the Zite Manager system, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.

  • Assess individual and household needs and complete referral forms for cases requiring support from internal our client units or external service providers.

  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, political science, development, international relations or related fields from an accredited academic institution with one (1) year of relevant professional experience.

          Or

  • High School Diploma with three (3) years of relevant professional experience.


Experience:

  • Experience in Camp Coordination and Camp Management (an advantage)

  • Strong ability to engage with community members, partners, and other stakeholders in a respectful manner (essential).

  • Familiarity with the local area and surrounding (desirable)

  • Experience with participatory fieldwork, methodologies, and monitoring.

  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Note: The position requires travel to provinces to provide support for site management and other RSU/CCCM-related activities, as needed.

Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team of colleagues of varied cultural and professional backgrounds.

  • Ability to work independently, with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.

  • Ability to work in challenging settings, under pressure while respecting tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability for leadership in the context of partnership building and consensual decision-making.

  • Knowledge of camp management-related technical guidelines, standards, and indicators.

Languages:

  • For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).

  • Working knowledge of Pashto or Dari is required.

  • Fluency in all national language(s) are highly advantages.
