The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB/the Bank) is seeking to recruit an Intern, Finance.  

THE DEPARTMENT

The Finance Department is responsible for managing the Bank's financial position through effective planning and administration of the functions of financing, investing, accounting, budgeting, cash flow analysis, financial analysis and reporting. The Department is also responsible for developing and administering financial policies and procedures and strengthening the Bank’s infrastructure and capability to mobilise resources to support its development agenda. In addition, the Department has responsibility for corporate procurement and asset risk insurance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Payment Processing: Inputting payment details into SmartStream and assisting with the resolution of payment related queries from internal and external customers;
  • Journal Records: Manually preparing, closing and adjusting journal entries as required;
  • Administration:  Organising and maintaining physical and digital filing systems and preparing and formatting documents for internal distribution;
  • Reporting: Generating reports from the financial systems as requested, assisting with the preparation of monthly reports and maintaining a log of requested reports and their status;
  • Reconciliations:  Assisting in the Bank Reconciliation process, and reconciling Loan and Borrowing Repayments;
  • Financial Statements:  Preparing Financial Statements for Donor Agencies; and
  • Assisting with such other work-related duties as requested Reporting Officer.

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

Reporting to the Accounting Assistants or the Senior Accounts Clerks.

EDUCATION

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Accounting (specifically or with any other field), or a related discipline, in an accredited tertiary level educational institution, or a recent graduate from a Bachelor’s programme (not more than 12 months).

LOCATION,  DURATION AND TIMING

The assignment will be based at CDB’s headquarters in St. Michael, Barbados over a 3-month period commencing on June 1, 2026 and ending on August 31, 2026.
