About this position

We are looking for an enthusiastic, analytical and organized Project Assistant Consultant. As Project Assistant consultant, you will provide support to the Social Protection and Labor Markets Division as a member of project teams along the life cycle of Bank operations, such as loans, technical cooperation’s (TC), knowledge products and publication process. In addition, as part of the responsibilities derived from operation’s activities, you will provide administrative support to guarantee successful missions and operational processes. The selected candidate will report to the Division Chief Social Protection & Labor Markets. 

You will work in the Social Protection and Labor Markets (SPL) Division, part of the Social (SCL) Sector. This team is responsible for providing a holistic approach to social protection and labor market policies that can improve resilience against risks, drive productivity growth, lower labor informality, and reduce poverty.

What you’ll do

  • Edit and proofread operational and knowledge documents produced by Division teams.
  • Review operational documentation, to ensure quality of final product and accurate application of relevant guidelines.
  • Provide support in updating and creating reports using IDB platforms/databases and tools
  • Perform administrative functions in support of the work of the operational team and of the Division, such as preparing and processing mission travel documentation, replying to project/program-related inquiries, and drafting memos.
  • Prepare, update and follow up on schedules for Loan Projects by compiling all schedules regularly, identify potential delays and communicate accordingly with Project Team Leaders, Division’s Chief and operational team, as needed.
  • In coordination with the operational team support actively in activities and production of documents related to preparation and approval of Loan Proposals and TC, assigned according to the Division’s pipeline every year.
  • Respond to requests from Social Protection and Labor Markets (SPL) operations mailbox.
  • Support the publication process within Social Protection and Labor Markets (SPL)

What you'll need

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in administration, accounting, economics, engineer or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in reviewing and editing operational or policy documents, tracking project timelines and compiling reports from internal systems.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

Type of contract and duration

  • International consultant Full-Time, 14 months (up to 48 months, subject to eligibility).
