POSITION SUMMARY
Based in Mexico City, the Finance and Procurement Senior Assistant for Latin America and the Caribbean will support Finance and Corporate Service (FCS) operations in the region and support the implementation of robust operational processes and financial management for both new and existing regional programs to enhance project delivery and management.
In compliance with GGGI’s rules and regulations - including Finance policies and Accounting standards, Procurement rules and regulations, GGGI’s Project Cycle Management Processes, and donor contracts - the Finance and Procurement Senior Assistant is expected to enable the successful delivery of both Regional and Country Programs through the performance of finance and procurement such as use of GGGI's systems (ERP, and GGGI Online), budget and financial management, procurement management and other operational tasks as required. This role will also support capacity building initiatives from the LAC Regional Office.
PURPOSE

Support finance management of the LAC Regional Office and across Country Programs, promoting and maintaining high quality control of operations.

Carry-out procurement processes and their related tasks in alignment with GGGI’s rules, regulations and policies, as well as donor guidelines and requirements.

Support finance and procurement functions and tasks delegated and/or required by GGGI’s HQ to the Regional Office.

Support enhancing the capacity of operative (FCS) and project management across the region, particularly finance and procurement related.

Support the dissemination and adoption of best practices (finance and procurement) that advocate compliance, transparency and accountability across LAC teams.
ENGAGEMENT
-
Reports directly to LAC Operations Officer.
-
Work closely with the LAC Regional Director, regional FCS team, and as required, other country office staff, to support finance and procurement aspects of program and project implementation.

Liaise with regional office staff, country teams, and HQ staff as required for the performance of duties.

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to guarantee compliance of GGGI's rules when carrying out due processes.
DELIVERY
-
Support budget planning, activation, execution, monitoring, and reporting for projects and core budgets assigned within the respective timeline and periodicity. This service can be in support to the Regional Office or other Country Programs, as required.

Provide finance-related guidance and/or support troubleshooting to guarantee the Country Programs' successful and timely delivery.

Assist in finance-related tasks that might be required from HQ to the regional office, such as review of financial reports, downloading and posting of postback templates, among others.

Support procurement processes and related tasks for consulting firms and service providers, in coordination with operations staff and HQ when necessary.

Carry out finance and procurement operations/transactions that require full understanding of GGGI's rules, procedures, systems and tools, complying with established GGGI policies, standards, and donor requirements.

Deliver finance and procurement training to new and existing FCS staff in the region, Project Managers and new joiners in the organization.

Support preparation of FCS-related training materials and resources for the LAC staff, as well as its regular updating as required.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or other related field of study.

At least 3-4 years of relevant experience in office management or administration roles, building capacity, finance and minor procurement functions.

Good level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Knowledge of ERP or financial software.

English proficiency is required.

Ability to prepare written reports and business correspondence, both in Spanish and English

Experience/knowledge of green growth, climate change and sustainable development is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The Finance and Procurement Sr. Assistant is an X5 grade level in GGGI’s Mexico national salary scale. The salary range for the position starts at USD 20,916 per annum, depending on qualifications, experience and internal equity. GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
