Job Description
Under the direct supervision of IOM’s National Project Officer-LMI and the overall supervision of the Head of Office of IOM Bulgaria, and in close coordination with relevant units, the incumbent will provide administrative and operational support to the implementation and reporting of Labour Mobility and Inclusion (LMI) activities carried out by IOM, in particular those implemented through the Migrant Information and Resource Center (MRC) in Sofia. The incumbent will also support communication, coordination, and liaison with public authorities, non-governmental organizations, migrant communities, and other relevant stakeholders in support of migrant integration in Bulgaria.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
2. Assist the National Project Officer in the implementation of LMI activities carried out by IOM, in particular those implemented through the Migrant Information and Resource Center (MRC) in Sofia.
3. Provide administrative, financial, and logistical support to project activities in collaboration with the Finance and 4. Administrative Unit, in line with established procedures.
4. Support the work of the MRCs across the country (e.g. Burgas, Varna and Plovdiv) by facilitating referrals and administrative follow-up and maintain a record of consultations provided.
5. Organize Bulgarian Language Training groups, maintain an up-to-date registry of beneficiary trainees, and verify their eligibility in accordance with project requirements.
6. Support communication channels used for information exchange with beneficiaries in the field of migrant mobility and integration.
7. Prepare monthly reports on activities carried out by the MRC.
8. Provide inputs and data for the preparation of final technical project reports.
9. Provides guidance/training to new/junior staff.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience
EDUCATION
• High school diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,
• Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
• Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
• Previous work experience with EU donors would be a distinct advantage.
• Previous experience in working with migrants and refugees is an advantage.
SKILLS
• Awareness of migrant and refugee issues, including the context in Bulgaria.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, personal commitment, efficiency, and flexibility.
• Good organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Working knowledge of labour market integration, migrant inclusion, and related support services.
• Ability to work effectively with migrants, public institutions, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to collect, maintain, and manage beneficiary data and records with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Ability to prepare routine reports, correspondence, and project documentation.
• Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong sense of professionalism, responsibility, and attention to detail.
• Sensitivity to diversity, cultural differences, and gender considerations.

REQUIRED
For this position, fluency in Bulgarian and English is required (oral and written).
