Build a career with impact. Working at the World Bank Group (WBG) provides a unique opportunity to help countries solve their greatest development challenges. As one of the largest sources of funding and knowledge for developing countries, the WBG is a unique partnership of five global institutions dedicated to ending poverty, increasing shared prosperity, and promoting sustainable development. With 189 member countries and more than 120 offices worldwide, the WBG works with public and private sector partners, investing in groundbreaking projects and using data, research, and technology to develop solutions to the most urgent global challenges.

The World Bank Group’s greatest asset is not its capital – it’s our people, their experience, and the lessons drawn from more than 80 years on the front lines of development. The new WBG Knowledge Bank brings the collective expertise together into a single, integrated system—combining insights from IBRD/IDA, IFC, and MIGA to deliver solutions that drive jobs and impact at scale.

The Knowledge Bank is organized into five Verticals—Digital and AI, Infrastructure, People, Planet, Prosperity - each combining public and private sector expertise under a unified leadership structure.

The WBG Prosperity Vertical helps countries accelerate inclusive growth and job creation; strengthen macro-fiscal foundations, including debt sustainability, debt management, domestic resource mobilization, and expenditure efficiency; promote a resilient and inclusive financial sector, business enabling policies and regulations, and trade facilitation; while advancing transparent, effective, accountable institutions.

Within the Prosperity Vertical, the Financial Services Sector (FSS) department promotes sound financial systems which in turn underpin economic growth and are crucial to the World Bank Group’s mission of alleviating poverty.
