Our client is undertaking a three-year project (Local Infrastructure in Rural Anbar LIRA) with financial support from the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW Development Bank. This phase III project was designed as an extension to LIRA phase I and II. LIRA III aims to improve basic living conditions for returnees in the liberated rural areas of Al-Anbar governorate and Sinjar through the rehabilitation of up to 2,000 housing units and restoration of decentralized services. The decentralized services component will entail the provision of solar street lighting, the rehabilitation of selected community roads, and water and sanitation networks and/or stations. When feasible, the rehabilitated housing units will be connected to the restored decentralized services, considering the whole neighborhood. The rehabilitation of housing and basic services will be guided by a needs-based approach.
The Health, Safety, Social and Environmental Analyst will report directly to the Project Manager and ensure full coordination with the Site Engineers and other project team members. In general, the main duties of the HSSE Analyst include ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety, social and environmental laws, procedures, guidelines, and specifications, and providing advice on measures needed to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations on construction sites. The HSSE Analyst needs to establish a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health, safety, social, and environmental management in all work sites under the project throughout the project lifecycle. The HSSE Analyst shall focus primarily on the prevention of accidents and is expected to be detail-oriented and ready to act in emergencies.
