TYPE OF CONTRAT: CST I
UNIT/DIVISION: RAM
DUTY STATION (City, Country): Port-au-Prince, Haiti
DURATION: 11 months
The position is based in Haiti and reports to the Head of RAM. The Research Officer will support the Country office by contributing to various strategic research that support management decision making. The role requires a highly analytical individual capable of synthesizing data analysis and reporting in actionable insights to support decision-making, resource mobilization, and program implementation.
To support the Country Office in producing compelling maps, data analysis reports and presentations to drive engagement with stakeholders, enhancing understanding, showcase impact, build trust and credibility, highlight urgent needs and advocate for resources. The role will require coordinating with relevant units for programme design and proposal development as well as supporting on key reports and communications to donors and other stakeholders.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ RESPONSABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
1.
Contribute to the preparation of well researched analysis that links economic, social and food security and vulnerability analysis with a view to triangulate and synthesize information that enables informed decision making and consistency of information presented to senior management and external stakeholders.
2.
Support the development of critical partnerships with universities and research institutions to advance thinking projections and innovative research/analysis to guide best practice.
3.
Provide support to the RAM team, particularly in conducting research and analysis related to the use of cash-based transfer (CBT) modalities. This includes contributing to feasibility studies, impact evaluations, and the development of evidence-based recommendations to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of cash transfer programming
4.
Develop training materials and organize capacity-building sessions for staff to ensure effective utilization of research tools, data analysis methodologies, and visualization platforms.
5.
Provide assistance in the coordination of data gathering/collation.
6.
Consolidate all analysis conducted by VAM/RAM to prepare a summary report and powerpoint for management decision making.
7.
Provide a bridge between data analysis to easy user-friendly presentation for management, while ensuring adherence to rigorous quality standards.
8.
Liaise with various teams to support the preparation of PowerPoints presentations and reports for CDs office.
9.
Support with mapping requirements for the preparation of proposals.
10.
Provide project management support for specific and defined programs and projects of considerable size or complexity, ensuring a coordinated approach with wider programs that comply with WFP standards and procedures.
11.
Perform any other tasks that may to assigned from time to time.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE:
EXPERIENCES: Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in the area of monitoring and evaluation, vulnerability analysis and mapping, or related fields, at least half of which of direct work experience with a UN agency or international organization preferred, or applied knowledge of the humanitarian, development and/or peace building architecture would be an asset.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
•
Proven experience in managing research and big data.
•
Knowledge in RAM and assessment of largescale projects, including the design and implementation of feasibility and impact studies.
•
Demonstrated experience in working with government partners and stakeholders, with a focus on aligning project activities with national priorities.
•
Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with stakeholders at all levels, including government partners, field teams, and community representatives.
•
Experience in leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
•
Strong proficiency in the use of software for statistical analysis tools, and other relevant technologies (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R), and data analysis and visualization tools and IA including R, Python, Tableau.
•
Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques, including dashboard creation and GIS mapping using QGIS software.
Familiarity with WFP's operational procedures, particularly in the context of emergency.
•
Experience in developing and implementing innovative solutions for operational efficiency.
•
Capacity and attitude to learn quickly and work in a team.
STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Advanced University degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
Languages: English language: Intermediate knowledge (level B)
French: Fluent (level C)
