GGGI, in collaboration with the National Institute of Green Technology (NIGT), Korea Environment Corporation (K-eco), and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), is implementing the ASEAN-Korea IMSWM project supported by the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF). Launched in September 2023, the project enhances regional capacity for integrated municipal solid waste management (IMSWM), supporting sustainable urban development and facilitating green investments across ASEAN Member States including Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia, Lao PDR.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT
GGGI is looking for a Project and Communications Consultant to support the IMSWM project. The consultant will assist with procurement and recruitment processes, help track project activities and deliverables, support reporting and documentation, and contribute to communications activities, including drafting updates, newsletters, and content for events.
The consultant will work closely with GGGI country teams, the project and communications teams at HQ, and consortium partners such as K-Eco, NIGT, and NTU to coordinate activities, share content, and support events. The role will operate under the guidance of GGGI’s project and communications teams to ensure alignment with institutional standards and project objectives.
SCOPE OF WORK AND DELIVERABLES
A. Project Monitoring & Reporting
- Contribute to the preparation and review of project reports and related documentation.
- Support tracking of project activities and key milestones.
- Assist in compiling regular project updates and organizing shared documents.
- Help maintain internal systems and ensure information is kept up to date.
B. Communications & Outreach
- Support the development and implementation of communication-related activities.
- Assist in drafting newsletters and project updates.
- Coordinate with external partners to produce communication materials.
C. Procurement & Recruitment Support
- Provide support to procurement processes and coordinate with relevant partners as needed.
- Assist with interview scheduling and general recruitment coordination.
- Support the preparation of required documentation and liaise with the procurement team where necessary.
D. Event & General Coordination
- Assist with organizing meetings and preparing related materials.
- Support logistical arrangements for events and workshops.
- Provide general coordination support among project stakeholders.
- Perform additional ad hoc tasks to support project implementation, as required.
Please note that this is a daily-rate consultancy; the listed deliverables serve to outline the scope of work.
EXPERTISE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, International Development, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- Relevant experience supporting donor-funded or multi-country projects, preferably in environmental, climate, or development sectors.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, and other graphic design tools, with proven experience in developing professionally designed reports, presentations, infographics, and other visual communication materials, as well as the ability to create engaging content across various media platforms.
- Relevant experience in project coordination skills, including support to procurement and recruitment processes, activity tracking, reporting, and documentation management.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to structure and present information clearly and concisely.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines with a structured and systematic approach.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Fluency in English required.
