The Data Team at IRC is responsible for the design, delivery and governance of data technology and data programs at the IRC. Our team is committed to high-impact results by encouraging relationships across the organization, driving continuous improvement, and delivering value through the implementation of high-quality, strategic data programs.
Job Overview/Summary:
The IT-Data team is seeking a Data Platforms Manager to support the Data team in administering, governing, and optimizing the enterprise data platforms used across the organization—including Databricks & Unity Catalog and Power BI.
This role ensures that data platforms are secure, well-governed, properly administered, and aligned with Data Team related standards, processes and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Administer and manage configurations across Data Platforms (including Azure Purview, Databricks and Power BI)
Implement and maintain role-based access controls (RBAC), workspace administration, group-based identity management, and platform-level privileged roles.
Manage platform auditing, monitoring, compliance, and license governance.
Support in implementing Enterprise Data Cataloging processes and practices such as column definition, data classification and ownership identification.
Administer and manage support tickets such as license provisioning, grating access, and issue troubleshooting.
Train data owners and stewards on new guidelines, standards and processes.
Document and maintain privileged roles across data platforms (such as Fabric Admin, Databricks Account Admin, Domain Admin, etc.).
Align data platform configurations and processes with internal policies and compliance requirements such as Global Information Security and Data Protection policies.
Develop and maintain usage / audit logs monitoring tools.
Work closely with Data Team leads, Data Engineering teams, Business Analysts, and other IT members to ensure platform governance and business alignment.
Support data owners and custodians in implementing proper data control, classification, and access processes.
Maintain clear documentation, workflows, and platform administration guidelines.
Support in evaluating data platforms’ enhancements and new capabilities/features.
Monitor data platforms performance such as Power BI premium capacities.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Management, or related experience.
Work Experience:
2 years of experience administering data platforms such as Power BI, Databricks / Unity Catalog.
5 years of experience in one of the key data functions such as Data Engineering and Data Analytics.
Strong understanding of data classification, protection, tagging, and cataloging.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
Non-profit and international humanitarian aid experience is a plus.
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
Demonstrated ability to maintain positive, collaborative, productive relationships with diverse key stakeholders across the organization.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to devise creative solutions to complex problems and issues.
Strong communications skills with the ability to listen and converse effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues on reporting analysis and insights.
Sound judgment in maintaining confidentiality key internal business information.
Passion for and commitment to the IRC’s mission.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent technical skills, including strong experience with SQL, complex relational databases, BI tools, and data visualization.

The Data Platforms Manager will collaborate closely with team members based in the United States and must maintain a minimum of 3 hours of overlapping work time with the New York time zone.
